Excellent Weldability and Brazability: Due to its low oxygen content, it does not suffer from "hydrogen embrittlement" during high-temperature welding-a phenomenon where hydrogen reacts with internal copper oxide to form water vapor, leading to cracks-ensuring strong and reliable welded joints.

Good Cold Working Performance: TP1 purple copper exhibits high plasticity, making it easy to perform cold bending, flaring, flanging, and other forming operations without cracking. It is particularly suitable for manufacturing complex-shaped pipe components.

Production Process of TP1 Purple Copper Tubes

Raw Material Preparation and Smelting:
High-purity cathode copper plates are used as the primary raw material. Phosphorus-copper master alloy is added in precisely measured amounts as a deoxidizing agent according to the TP1 composition. These materials are melted in large smelting furnaces to form a homogeneous copper melt.

Casting:
The molten copper is poured into vertical or horizontal continuous casting machines, where it solidifies into round copper billets (commonly called ingots) of specified dimensions.

Extrusion or Piercing:
For small to medium-diameter copper tubes, extrusion is commonly used, where heated billets are forced through a die under high pressure to form tubes. Drawing:
The rough tubes obtained from extrusion or piercing lack sufficient dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
