What is TP1/C12000 flexible copper tubing?

Copper (also known as pure copper) primarily consists of copper with a content typically above 99.90%. Its high purity endows the material with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, with its electrical conductivity second only to silver. The crystal structure of copper is face-centered cubic, which provides it with exceptional plasticity, allowing it to undergo both cold and hot pressure processing to form various shapes such as tubes, plates, and wires.

TP1 is a type of phosphorus-deoxidized copper. During the copper smelting process, a trace amount of phosphorus is added as a deoxidizing agent to remove oxygen from the molten copper, thereby enhancing its toughness and corrosion resistance. Compared to pure copper, TP1 phosphorus-deoxidized copper has a higher recrystallization temperature, meaning it maintains better strength and shape stability at elevated temperatures, along with improved resistance to high-temperature oxidation. The silver element within it further enhances its creep resistance, making it less prone to plastic deformation under prolonged exposure to heat and stress.

Why are C12000 copper tubes used in evaporators?

High Thermal Conductivity Ensures Efficient Heat Exchange
TP1/C12000 copper alloy has a copper content ≥99.9%, and its electrical conductivity is 40–50% higher than that of brass and bronze. Its thermal conductivity is close to that of pure copper (approximately 380–400 W/(m·K)), significantly improving the heat transfer efficiency between the refrigerant and heating medium within the evaporator, shortening evaporation time, and reducing energy consumption.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance Adapts to Complex Operating Conditions
In high-end industrial evaporation systems such as pharmaceuticals, lithium batteries, and food processing, evaporators often come into contact with chlorine-containing, sulfur-containing, or strongly alkaline media. C12000 copper alloy exhibits stable resistance to various chemical corrosive media, maintaining structural integrity even in humid and high-temperature environments, preventing leaks or efficiency degradation due to corrosion.

Good Machinability and Weldability
This material possesses excellent cold and hot working properties, allowing it to be drawn into small-diameter copper tubes and rolled into thin-walled heat exchange fins, meeting the manufacturing requirements of complex flow channel structures in evaporators. Meanwhile, its excellent solderability and electroplating properties facilitate reliable sealing connections with joints, flanges, and other components, improving the overall airtightness and service life of the system.

High thermal stability ensures safe long-term operation

The TP1/C12000 has a softening temperature of 1500℃, far exceeding the operating temperature of conventional evaporators (typically <200℃). It maintains its mechanical strength even under frequent start-stop or instantaneous overheating conditions, preventing material deformation or failure and ensuring safe and stable system operation.

Wide Application of C12000 Copper Alloys in Evaporators

In industrial practice, C12000 and similar high-purity copper alloys have been widely used in heat exchange applications such as automotive radiators, air conditioning evaporators, and chemical condensation and evaporation systems. User test feedback shows that evaporators using C12000 copper tubes exhibit a heat transfer efficiency decay rate of less than 5% after 10,000 hours of continuous operation, significantly outperforming ordinary stainless steel or aluminum.
