What is TP1/C12000 copper?

Production Process of TP1 Copper Rods

The production of TP1 copper rods is a rigorous process. First, raw materials such as electrolytic copper are melted in a smelting furnace, with an appropriate amount of phosphor copper added during a specific stage for deoxidation. This step is critical, as it directly affects the oxygen content and performance of the final material. After smelting, the molten copper is cast into ingots or continuously cast into billets.

The next stage is hot working, where the ingots are heated and then shaped into rods through extrusion or hot rolling. Hot working effectively breaks down the as-cast structure, making the material denser. This is followed by cold working, where cold drawing or cold rolling further improves the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the rods while enhancing their strength. Finally, based on requirements, the rods undergo heat treatment to relieve internal stresses, stabilize the microstructure, and achieve the mechanical and physical properties specified by standards.
