C23000 brass rods have the following characteristics and application analysis in the field of conductive terminals and electromagnetic shielding cover:
I. Material properties
Composition and conductivity
C23000 belongs to the ordinary brass (copper-zinc alloy), copper content of about 83-85%, zinc content of 15-17%. Its conductivity between pure copper and other high zinc brass, suitable for medium conductive scene.
Compared to high copper brasses such as C21000 (94-96% copper), C23000 is slightly less conductive but more cost effective.

Machinability
Good hot state plasticity, cold state plasticity is still good, support cold rolling, hot extrusion and other processes; high surface finish, suitable for precision stamping molding.
Cutting performance is better than pure copper, but weaker than leaded brass (such as C31400).
Application
Conductive terminals
Used for low and medium voltage electrical connectors, such as switch contacts, terminals, taking into account the conductivity and processing efficiency.
Plasticity can be improved through the annealing process (540-600 ℃) to adapt to the needs of complex structures stamping.
Electromagnetic shielding
The electromagnetic shielding efficiency of brass is better than that of aluminum alloy, which is suitable for the shielding shell of communication equipment and electronic instruments.
Corrosion resistance can be improved by plating (such as nickel, tin) to extend the service life in outdoor environment.
