Corrosion Resistance and Environmental Adaptability
C10100 oxygen-free copper exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in dry atmospheres, fresh water, and non-oxidizing acid environments. Its surface oxide film is only 2-3 nm thick, much thinner than the 10-15 nm of ordinary copper. This thin oxide film acts like a sturdy armor, effectively protecting the internal metal from corrosion. In marine engineering, equipment operates under harsh environments with high humidity and high salinity. C10100 oxygen-free copper, with its superior corrosion resistance, can operate stably for extended periods, reducing maintenance costs and replacement frequency. In the restoration of ancient buildings, using C10100 oxygen-free copper to repair copper components not only ensures the restored components match the original architectural style but also allows them to be preserved in the natural environment for a long time, continuing the historical charm of the ancient buildings. In short, it demonstrates strong adaptability in various environments, making it a highly reliable material.




Fabrication and Heat Treatment
Machinability
The machinability rate of C10100 copper is 20%.
Welding
Welding methods such as soldering, brazing, gas shielded arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and butt welding are recommended for C10100 copper. Other welding methods such as coated metal arc welding, spot welding and seam welding are not preferred.
Forging
C10100 copper is forged at hot working temperatures ranging from 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). The hot forgeability rate of this metal is 65%.
Hot Working
C10100 copper has excellent hot working property.
Cold Working
C10100 copper has excellent cold working property.
Annealing
Annealing of C10100 copper is performed at temperatures ranging from 371 to 649°C (700 to 1200°F).
