Copper Type K L M Pipe Size PDF
Products Description
Copper C10100 is a high-purity copper alloy that is commonly used for making pipes due to its excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and workability. These pipes are often used in applications that require the transfer of fluids or gases, such as plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
Physical and Mechanical Properties
Physical Properties
Density: 8.89~8.94 g/cm³ (almost the same as pure copper);
Melting Point: 1083℃ (same as pure copper);
Electricity: ≥98% IACS (International Standard for Annealed Copper), slightly lower than pure copper but better than most alloys;
Thermal Conductivity: Approximately 380 W/(m·K), close to the level of pure copper.
Mechanical Properties (taking annealed state as an example)
Tensile Strength (Rm): 210~260 MPa (soft state);
Yield Strength (Rp0.2): 40~60 MPa;
Elongation (A): 40%~50%, exhibiting extremely high plasticity;
Hardness: HB 40~50 (soft state), can reach HB 110 or higher after cold working.
Cold Working Characteristics: Strength can be increased through cold rolling, drawing, etc. (tensile strength up to 400 MPa), but over-processing should be avoided to prevent a sharp drop in plasticity.
Material Properties and Core Advantages
Hydrogen Embrittlement Resistance and High-Temperature Stability
The phosphorus deoxidation process completely eliminates residual oxygen, preventing brittle cracking in hydrogen environments (ordinary copper is prone to cracking due to water vapor bubbles formed by hydrogen penetration);
It maintains structural stability even in high-temperature reducing atmospheres (such as hydrogen furnaces), making it suitable for vacuum brazing components.
Welding and Forming Performance
Extremely low oxygen content prevents porosity during welding, making it suitable for precision joining processes such as high-frequency welding and laser welding;
Wide hot working temperature range (700~900℃), excellent ductility, and can be processed into ultra-thin tubes or complex profiles.
Corrosion Resistance and Cleanliness
It exhibits superior corrosion resistance in pure water and non-oxidizing acids compared to ordinary copper;
High surface cleanliness makes it suitable for semiconductor equipment and ultrapure fluid transport systems.
