Products Description
Unalloyed copper or oxygen free coppers have good corrosion resistance and high thermal and electrical properties. Unalloyed coppers of different grades vary based on the amount of impurities present, and have different characteristics. UNS designations of commercially available pure copper are C10100 to C13000. These oxygen free coppers are suitable for applications, which require ductility and high conductivity.
Chemical Composition and Standards
According to ASTM B152/B152M standards, the chemical composition requirements for C10100 are as follows (mass percentage):
Copper (Cu): ≥99.99% (total impurities ≤0.01%);
Phosphorus (P): 0.004%~0.012% (deoxidizer, residual amount strictly controlled);
Oxygen (O): ≤0.0005% (far lower than the oxygen content of ordinary copper);
Other impurities: such as iron (Fe), lead (Pb), sulfur (S), etc., are limited to trace levels.
Note: The corresponding grade in the Chinese national standard is TP2 phosphorus-deoxidized copper (GB/T 5231-2012), and its performance parameters are basically the same as those of C10100.
