C71500 White Cup (also known as Nickel White Cup) is a copper alloy containing approximately 70% copper, 29% nickel, and small amounts of iron and manganese. Due to its excellent corrosion, wear, and oxidation resistance, this alloy is widely used in the manufacturing of marine ship components and in the petroleum and chemical industry.
Key Features
Corrosion Resistance: C71500 White Cup effectively resists corrosion in corrosive environments such as seawater and chlorides.
High-Temperature Resistance:
It maintains relatively stable physical properties, including tensile strength and ductility, within a temperature range of 300°C to 400°C.
The high-temperature resistance limit is generally considered to be around 500°C; above this temperature, the alloy's strength and hardness may significantly decrease.
It has an oxidation temperature of over 800°C and exhibits strong oxidation resistance.
Mechanical Properties:
Tensile strength reaches over 400 MPa at room temperature, with a tensile strength range of 520-650 MPa.
Yield strength is typically between 170-240 MPa, and can be increased by 10-15% after cold rolling.
Hardness is typically between HV150-200, with excellent wear resistance.
It exhibits excellent plasticity and toughness, capable of undergoing significant plastic deformation without breaking under external forces.
Thermal Conductivity: Room temperature thermal conductivity is 31 W/(m·K), which is high, making it suitable for applications requiring high thermal conductivity.
Density: Approximately 8.9 g/cm³, slightly higher than that of ordinary copper alloys.
Poise ratio: Low, indicating strong resistance to plastic deformation at high temperatures.
High-Temperature Creep Properties: Low creep rate, effectively resisting stress relaxation and deformation at high temperatures.

Applications
Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding: Widely used in hulls, heat exchangers, and piping systems for naval and merchant ships.
Chemical Equipment: Used in the manufacture of equipment operating in corrosive media, such as high-temperature heat exchangers, capable of maintaining excellent yield strength and mechanical properties in environments up to 200°C.
Heat Exchangers: Suitable for the manufacture of condenser tubes, distiller tubes, heat exchanger casings, etc.
Petrochemical Industry: Commonly used in piping and equipment operating in high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
Standards
C71500 white copper complies with the following standards:
ASTM B111M-1992
B122-1990
B151M-19889
B466M-1986 (1992, 1993 editions)
Weldability
C71500 alloy has excellent weldability and can be joined and fabricated using common welding methods (such as gas shielded welding and arc welding).
Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and good mechanical properties, C71500 white copper is widely used in demanding industries such as marine equipment, chemical engineering, and aerospace. It performs exceptionally well in high-temperature, highly corrosive industrial environments, making it a popular material for manufacturing high-performance components.
