C61400 is an aluminum bronze alloy specified in the American Standard (ASTM B150) and is a high-performance copper-based material. This alloy uses a copper matrix, reinforced by the addition of aluminum, iron, and nickel. - Iron (Fe): 2.0% to 4.0%, refining the grain size and enhancing wear resistance. - Nickel (Ni): ≤1.0%, improves high-temperature performance and stress corrosion resistance.
- Trace elements such as manganese (Mn) and zinc (Zn) further optimize processing performance.

1. Mechanical Properties:
- Tensile Strength: ≥550 MPa, hardness reaches HB 170-220, strength close to that of medium-carbon steel.
- Elongation: ≥15%, combining good ductility and toughness.
2. Corrosion Resistance:
- Excellent performance in seawater, acidic, and alkaline environments, resisting erosion corrosion and cavitation erosion.
3. Other Properties:
- Low thermal conductivity, suitable for high-temperature friction conditions; non-magnetic, suitable for electrical equipment.

Processing and Precautions for ASTM B111 C61400 Copper Plumbing
- Forming Process: Suitable for hot forging, cold working, and precision casting, but the aluminum content must be controlled to avoid hot brittleness.
- Weldability: Specialized welding consumables are required, and preheating to above 300°C is required to reduce the risk of cracking.
