From a materials science perspective, C60800 aluminum bronze belongs to the copper-aluminum-iron-nickel alloy family. Its typical chemical composition is 88%-91% copper, 8.5%-11% aluminum, 2%-4% iron, and 1%-2% nickel. This precise elemental composition gives the material exceptional comprehensive performance. In terms of physical properties, C60800 aluminum bronze has a density of approximately 7.5 g/cm³, a melting point range of 1040-1080°C, and a thermal conductivity of 45-60 W/(m·K). These fundamental parameters provide a theoretical basis for its application in high-temperature environments. Of particular note, after proper heat treatment, this material achieves a tensile strength of 550-750 MPa, a yield strength of 250-450 MPa, an elongation between 10% and 25%, and a hardness of HB170-220. These mechanical properties significantly outperform those of ordinary bronze.

Another key advantage of this material is its corrosion resistance. In actual testing, the annual corrosion rate of C60800 aluminum bronze in seawater, acidic solutions, and alkaline environments was less than 0.05 mm/year, primarily due to the dense aluminum oxide protective film formed on its surface. The alloy also exhibits outstanding wear resistance. Under dry friction conditions, its wear rate is only one-third to one-half that of ordinary tin bronze. This superior combination of wear and corrosion resistance makes it a preferred material for key components of marine engineering equipment.

In terms of production technology, the manufacturing process of C60800 aluminum bronze combines traditional metallurgical techniques with modern precision machining. The smelting process is carried out in a medium-frequency induction furnace under a reducing atmosphere. Aluminum is added as an intermediate alloy, and the order of addition and temperature profile are strictly controlled. Casting typically utilizes mold casting or continuous casting to achieve a dense as-cast structure. Hot working temperatures are typically controlled between 750-850°C, with microstructure refinement achieved through multiple rolling or forging passes. After cold working, the material undergoes an annealing treatment at 600-700°C to eliminate work hardening.
