C44300 naval brass tubing (composed of copper, zinc, and tin) used in evaporative coolers is a device that uses water evaporation to cool air. Evaporative cooling differs from traditional air conditioning systems that use vapor compression or absorption refrigeration cycles. Evaporative cooling utilizes the characteristic that water absorbs a large amount of heat when it evaporates (i.e., water has a high enthalpy of vaporization).
