High Strength and Toughness
The SB 111 C71500 copper-nickel alloy, composed of 30% nickel and the balance copper, possesses high strength and excellent toughness. Its tensile strength is typically 350-480 MPa, yield strength is between 105-205 MPa, and elongation can reach over 30%. Compared to other copper alloys, C71500 exhibits strong corrosion resistance in seawater environments, making it suitable for long-term use.
Corrosion Resistance
The high nickel content of SB 111 C71500 results in particularly outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater. The addition of nickel significantly improves the alloy's corrosion resistance in marine environments, especially its superior performance against microbial corrosion and chloride ion corrosion in seawater. Therefore, the C71500 alloy is commonly used in highly corrosive environments such as shipbuilding and marine engineering.
Thermal Conductivity
Although the electrical and thermal conductivity of SB111 C71500 is slightly lower than that of pure copper, its thermal conductivity coefficient remains at around 29 W/m·K, which is sufficient for applications requiring good thermal conductivity, such as heat exchanger pipes.
