Products Description
90/10 copper-nickel pipe is used in ships, power plants, hydraulic lines, and offshore fire water systems. Its chemical composition is 10.5% nickel, 1.5% iron, 0.75% manganese, with the remainder being copper. Due to its high ductility and toughness, 90/10 copper-nickel pipe is very popular in industrial and construction applications. The ultimate tensile strength of 90/10 copper-nickel pipe is 300–310 N/mm². The 0.2% yield strength of 90/10 copper-nickel pipe is 105 N/mm². The elongation of 90/10 copper-nickel alloy is 30%.
90/10 copper-nickel alloy seamless pipe offers excellent resistance to erosion and stress corrosion, as well as excellent resistance to biofouling in brackish and seawater. 90/10 copper-nickel alloy pipe (UNS C70600) also offers excellent welding and fabrication properties. Furthermore, 90/10 copper-nickel alloy round pipe is highly resistant to hydrogen embrittlement. Relevant specifications for Cu-Ni 90/10 tubing include C70600, CW352H, DEF STAN 02-779, BS2874, CN102, NF A51-115, ASTM B151, C70610, EN 12163, DEF STAN 02-879 Annex C, 2.0872, NES 779, CuNi10Fe1Mn, and BS2870. Cu-Ni 90/10 tubing is also used in desalination plants, aquaculture cages, seawater piping, condensers, and heat exchangers. Cu-Ni 90/10 square tubing exhibits excellent antimicrobial properties. In just a few hours, it can kill a wide range of microorganisms, including influenza A (H1N1) virus, Clostridium difficile, Escherichia coli, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
