C11000 Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) Copper is known for its high electrical and thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance and solderability. C11000 copper is used for welding fixtures, anodes, bus bar in electrical power installations, ground straps, commutators and current-carrying hardware. Its inherent fabrication qualities readily permit it to be bent, soldered, drilled, peened, riveted and formed to fit almost any design specification. This copper has excellent hot workability.

Welding

For C11000 copper, soldering techniques such as brazing, brazing, gas shielded arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and butt welding are recommended. Other welding techniques such as coated metal arc welding, spot welding and seam welding are not preferred.

Forging

C11000 copper is forged at a hot working temperature of 760 to 871°C (1400 to 1600°F). Hot forging pass rate for this metal is 65%.

Hot Work

C11000 copper has excellent hot working properties.

Cold Working

C11000 copper has excellent cold working properties.

Annealing

Annealing temperatures for C11000 copper range from 371 to 649°C (700 to 1200°F).
