AMS 4616 Silicon Bronze

AMS 4616 is a special high strength silicon bronze; the additional iron content provides added strength in conjunction with the self lubricity of the silicon for excellent bearing and load properties. AMS 4616 / C65620 is easily machined into ball bearing cage assemblies.

Si45Z is a wrought single-phase silicon iron copper alloy: CuSi3Fe2Zn3 (AMS 4616, UNS C65620).

It exhibits exceptional ductility and elongation rate together with good mechanical properties. It, therefore, enables good cold formability and complex shapes, it also allows to design components that would not hurt their environment if they were to fail. It is non-magnetic and resists mechanical wear and galling.
