C23000 copper alloy (also known as 85 copper or red brass) is a copper-zinc alloy containing about 85% copper and 15% zinc, which is widely used in the fields of architectural decoration, electrical connection and art products due to its unique red appearance, good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. I. Physical Properties
Density and melting point: Density is 8.75g/cm³, melting point is about 990-1000℃, suitable for medium temperature environment application.
Electrical and thermal conductivity: electrical conductivity of about 28% IACS, thermal conductivity of about 110W/(m-K), suitable for medium electrical conductivity and heat dissipation needs scenarios.
Mechanical properties:
Tensile strength about 290-340MPa, elongation δ10 is 25%-35%, both strength and plasticity.
Hardness HV70-80, can be further improved after cold working.
Second, chemical properties
Corrosion resistance: good performance in dry atmosphere, fresh water and weak acid environment, but long-term exposure to humid sulfur-containing environment prone to copper green (basic copper carbonate).
Antioxidant: Dense surface oxide film can delay further oxidation, suitable for outdoor decorative purposes.



Processing and heat treatment
Processing performance:
Excellent cold working performance, suitable for stamping, bending and other molding processes, commonly used in decorative panels and precision components.
Welding performance is good (brazing, gas shielded welding), but hot processing needs to avoid zinc volatilization (temperature control below 650 ℃).
Heat treatment process:
Annealing temperature: 450-550°C (to eliminate stress and restore plasticity).
