C44300 and H62 copper tubes differ significantly in several aspects. Below is a detailed comparison of the two types:
Chemical Composition
C44300 copper tubes:
Mainly composed of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), tin (Sn), and trace amounts of arsenic (As).
The copper content is approximately 69.0% to 71.0%, with zinc as the remainder. The tin content ranges from 0.8% to 1.3%, and the arsenic content is trace, typically around 0.03% to 0.06%.
H62 copper tubes:
Mainly composed of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn).
The copper content ranges from 60.5% to 63.5%, with the remainder being zinc.
It also contains small amounts of impurity elements, such as lead (Pb) not exceeding 0.08%, iron (Fe) not exceeding 0.15%, and other impurity elements such as boron (P), beryllium (Sb), and bismuth (Bi). The contents are strictly controlled.
Performance Characteristics
C44300 Copper Tube:
High Corrosion Resistance: Demonstrates high corrosion resistance in a variety of environments, including air, steam, oil, and seawater, with particularly excellent resistance to seawater corrosion.
Good Mechanical Properties: Excellent tensile strength and elongation.
Easy Processing: Excellent hot and cold press working properties, and easy welding and lead soldering.
H62 Copper Tube:
Good Mechanical Properties: Excellent hot plasticity and acceptable cold plasticity.
Good Machinability: Excellent surface quality and processing efficiency are achieved in turning, milling, and drilling.
Easy Welding: Convenient for connection and assembly.
Fair Corrosion Resistance: Under certain conditions, such as water or air containing corrosive media, corrosion cracking can occur.
Applications
C44300 Copper Tube:
Commonly used for corrosion-resistant parts on ocean-going vessels, such as condenser pipes.
Conduits in contact with seawater, steam, and oil.
Parts of thermal equipment.
H62 Copper Tube:
Electronic and electrical applications: Used in the manufacture of various connectors, terminals, lead frames, etc.
Plumbing and sanitary ware: Used in the manufacture of faucets, valves, and pipe fittings.
Mechanical and structural parts: Fasteners such as pins, rivets, washers, and nuts, as well as auxiliary equipment such as conduits, pressure gauge springs, and screens.
Price and Cost
C44300 Copper Tube: Due to its high corrosion resistance and the presence of tin and trace amounts of arsenic, it is relatively expensive.
H62 Copper Tube: Relatively affordable and a widely used common brass variety.
