Introduction of C10200 copper alloy

C10200 is an Oxidized Copper (Oxygen-Free Copper, OFC) classified according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards and the Uniform Numbering System (UNS). This copper alloy is favored for its extremely high purity (copper content is typically 99.95% or higher) and very low residual oxygen content (typically less than 0.001%.) C10200 alloy provides excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and because of its near-ozone-free content, it performs very well in soldering and machining, and is not prone to porosity or cracking.
Characteristics
High Electrical and Thermal Conductivity: C10200 copper alloy is one of the most commonly used materials for electrical applications because it offers very high electrical and thermal conductivity.

Good machinability: This copper alloy is easy to machine and can be shaped through a variety of metal forming processes, including welding, casting and forging.

Excellent corrosion resistance: C10200 alloy shows good corrosion resistance in many environments, especially in dry environments.

Good weldability: Due to its extremely low oxygen content, C10200 is less prone to porosity during welding, resulting in high quality welded joints.

Fields of application
C10200 copper alloy has a wide range of applications in many industries, especially in areas requiring high electrical conductivity and good weldability, such as:

Electrical industry: for the manufacture of various wires, cables, electrical connectors and switches.

Electronics industry: for the manufacture of conductive components of electronic devices.

Heat exchangers and condensers: for the manufacture of heat exchangers and condensers, utilizing its excellent thermal conductivity.

Decorative and Artwork: The beautiful luster of high purity copper also makes it ideal for decorative and artwork applications.

Processing and Maintenance
Processing: C10200 copper alloy can be processed by conventional metalworking techniques, including machining, hot working and cold working.

Maintenance: Although C10200 has good corrosion resistance, it needs to be protected against corrosion in certain environments (e.g. sulfide containing environments).
C10200 copper alloy occupies an important place in industry and manufacturing due to its excellent physical and chemical properties, and is an indispensable material for electrical and heat transfer applications.
