What is TP1/C12000 copper?
According to national standards, the designation of copper grades typically consists of letters and numbers. "T" represents copper, and "P" indicates that it is phosphorus-deoxidized copper. The "1" in TP1 indicates that the residual phosphorus content is within a specific low range.
Phosphorus acts as a deoxidizer in TP1 copper. During the smelting process, molten copper easily absorbs oxygen, forming copper oxide, which severely affects the weldability and cold bending performance of the copper material. By adding trace amounts of phosphorus, it reacts with oxygen to form phosphorus pentoxide and other slag, which is then removed, resulting in copper with extremely low oxygen content.
Applications of TP1/C12000
*Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry: This is one of the innovative application markets for copper tubing. Due to its good thermal conductivity, ease of bending and connection, and resistance to refrigerant corrosion, copper is an ideal material for manufacturing tubing connecting compressors, condensers, and evaporators in refrigerators, air conditioners, and other equipment. The good heat resistance of TP1 copper tubing also makes it suitable for the operating temperatures inside air conditioning systems.
* Heat Exchangers and Radiators: Copper tubes are used as heat transfer elements in heat exchange equipment in industries such as power, chemical, and shipbuilding. They efficiently transfer heat between fluids. Copper tubes are also commonly used in automotive radiators and power plant condensers.
* Water and Gas Supply Systems: Copper tubes are antibacterial, corrosion-resistant, and have a long service life, making them a preferred material for hot and cold water pipes and gas pipelines in high-end buildings. Their smooth inner walls are less prone to scaling, ensuring smooth water flow.
* Industrial Piping: In industries such as chemical, food, and pharmaceutical, copper tubes are used to transport media with special requirements for pipe materials due to their corrosion resistance and non-toxicity.
* Other Industrial Applications: Copper tubes are also used in the manufacture of bearings, bushings, hydraulic system piping, and various electrical components requiring high electrical and thermal conductivity.

| Typical Applications | High-conductivity busbars, heat exchangers, tubing | High-vacuum electronics, glass-metal seals, waveguides, sputtering targets |
Choose C10200 (Oxygen-Free Copper) when your priority is:
Maximum Purity & Conductivity: For critical electrical/electronic components (e.g., waveguides, semiconductor parts).
High-Temperature in Hydrogen: For service in reducing atmospheres (e.g., hydrogen furnaces, brazing atmospheres) where hydrogen embrittlement is a risk.
Superior Ductility & Forming: For severe cold working and deep drawing applications.
High-Vacuum or Sealing Applications: Where outgassing or oxidation at high temperatures must be absolutely minimized (e.g., glass-metal seals, accelerator parts).
Choose C12000 (Phosphorus Deoxidized Copper) when your priority is:
Excellent Conductivity at Lower Cost: For high-performance busbars, electrical conductors, and heat exchangers where C10200's marginal gain isn't justified.
Easier Joining in Air: Its deoxidized nature makes it very forgiving for welding and brazing in standard shop environments.
General High-Conductivity Applications: Where hydrogen embrittlement is not a concern (e.g., standard electrical components, non-reducing atmosphere heat transfer).
Good Balance of Performance and Practical Fabrication.
