C79200 is a high-performance white cup alloy primarily composed of copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), zinc (Zn), and minor trace elements. Its typical composition is approximately 60%-65% copper, 15%-20% nickel, and 15%-20% zinc. Trace amounts of manganese (Mn) or iron (Fe) may be added to optimize performance. This alloy achieves excellent overall performance through a precise composition and is widely used in precision engineering and corrosion resistance applications.

 

Physical and Mechanical Properties

C79200 white cup alloy exhibits excellent mechanical strength and good ductility. Its tensile strength typically ranges from 500-700 MPa, its yield strength can reach 300-450 MPa, and its elongation remains within the 10%-25% range. Furthermore, this alloy has moderate hardness and is easily machined and formed, making it suitable for both cold and hot working. While its thermal and electrical conductivity are slightly lower than those of pure copper, they still meet most industrial requirements.

 

Corrosion Resistance and Applications

Due to its high nickel and zinc content, C79200 alloy exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater, acidic environments, and industrial atmospheres. A dense oxide film forms on its surface, further slowing the corrosion process. Therefore, this material is often used in applications requiring high corrosion resistance, such as marine components, chemical equipment, heat exchangers, and precision instrument components.

Processing and Welding Properties

C79200 alloy exhibits excellent machinability and can be precisely machined using processes such as turning, milling, and stamping. It is suitable for welding using various methods, including argon arc welding and resistance welding, but careful control of heat input is required to avoid intergranular corrosion. Furthermore, its excellent polishing properties enable a smooth and delicate surface finish, making it suitable for decorative applications.
