C70600, also known as cupronickel or naval brass, is a copper-based alloy with nickel as the main alloying element, containing approximately 90% copper and 10% nickel. This alloy is widely used in marine engineering, chemical equipment, and seawater cooling systems due to its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and good mechanical properties.
Heat Treatment
The heat treatment process for C70600 mainly includes solution treatment and aging treatment. Solution treatment is usually carried out at 650°C to 720°C to eliminate internal stress and optimize the grain structure. The subsequent aging treatment is usually carried out at 450°C to 550°C for several hours to promote the uniform distribution of elements such as nickel and iron in the alloy and improve the stability of the anti-oxidation layer. According to the AMS4670 standard, heat treatment should ensure grain refinement and avoid grain boundary corrosion and crack formation, which plays a crucial role in improving the material's oxidation resistance.
