C60800 Aluminum Bronze Material PDF
C60800 is an aluminum-bronze alloy specified in the US ASTM standard (equivalent to the Chinese designation QAl8). With an aluminum content of 8%-9%, it belongs to the family of high-strength, corrosion-resistant copper alloys. Its aluminum solid solution strengthening and unique microstructural design enable it to demonstrate exceptional reliability and longevity in harsh environments such as marine propulsion systems and chemical equipment.
Chemical Composition and Core Properties

Aluminum (Al): 7.0%-9.0%
Iron (Fe): ≤0.50%
Total of other impurities ≤0.15%
Performance Highlights:
High Strength and Corrosion Resistance: Tensile strength ≥550 MPa, yield strength ≥250 MPa, and seawater corrosion resistance over five times that of ordinary brass.
Wear Resistance: With a hardness of 160-220 HB and a low coefficient of friction, it is suitable for manufacturing high-wear components such as bearings and gears.
Thermal Stability: Can operate for long periods below 400°C, with a high-temperature strength loss rate of less than 10%.
Heat Treatment and Processing
Solution Aging Strengthening:
Solution Treatment: Water quenching at 900-950°C to obtain a supersaturated solid solution.
Aging Treatment: Hold at 450-500°C for 4-6 hours to precipitate the β' strengthening phase.
Hot Working: Hot forging at 750-850°C to prevent aluminum oxidation and burning.
Cold Working: Cold rolling deformation of 30%-40% is permitted, with intermediate annealing (600-650°C) required to eliminate work hardening.
