What is TP1/C12000 copper?
C12000 is a high-purity phosphorus-deoxidized copper material widely used in fields such as electrical, electronic, machinery manufacturing, and architectural decoration. This material boasts excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, ductility, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for processing into various forms, including plates and bars, to meet the demands of diverse industrial applications.
Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of C12000 strictly complies with standards and primarily consists of:
Copper (Cu): ≥99.9%, ensuring high electrical and thermal conductivity.
Phosphorus (P): 0.004%–0.012%, serving as a deoxidizer to enhance material purity.
Other impurities: Elements such as iron (Fe) and lead (Pb) are present in extremely low amounts, ensuring stable material performance.
Its low impurity characteristics make it particularly outstanding in precision electronic components and high-temperature environments.
Physical and Mechanical Properties
Electrical Conductivity: Conductivity ≥98% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard), close to pure copper levels, making it suitable for high-current transmission scenarios.
Thermal Conductivity: Thermal conductivity coefficient ≥380 W/(m·K), suitable for components such as heat sinks and heat exchangers.
Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 200–250 MPa (annealed state).
Elongation: ≥35%, demonstrating excellent plastic processing capability.
Hardness: HV 40–60 (soft state), which can be further increased through cold working.
Corrosion Resistance: Exhibits good resistance to corrosion from atmosphere, water, and non-oxidizing acids, making it suitable for humid or chemical environments.

Processing and Application Areas
Processing Characteristics: C12000 is easy to stamp, bend, weld, and machine, allowing for the fabrication of complex-shaped components.
Typical Applications:
Electrical Industry: Busbars, connectors, switch contacts, etc.
Electronic Devices: Circuit board substrates, shields.
Industrial Components: Heat exchanger tubes, valve parts.
Architectural Decoration: Roofing plates, artistic sculptures, etc.
Key Distinctions from Other Common Coppers:
vs. C11000 (ETP Copper - Electrolytic Tough Pitch):
C11000 contains oxygen (~0.04%). It is not recommended for welding or high-temperature reducing atmospheres (risk of hydrogen embrittlement). C12000 is preferred for welded applications.
vs. C12200 (Similar DHP Copper):
C12200 has a slightly higher phosphorus range. They are often considered interchangeable for many applications, but C12200 is more common for plumbing tube.
vs. C10100 / C10200 (Oxygen-Free Copper):
OF coppers have higher conductivity (101% IACS) and superior ductility. They are used for high-vacuum electronics and critical conductors. C12000 is more economical for general plumbing and heat exchangers.
