Trace impurities such as phosphorus, bismuth, and lead are strictly controlled to extremely low levels, typically not exceeding 0.001% for each. Due to the absence of oxygen and other impurities, C10100 oxygen-free copper has a uniform and dense microstructure, exhibiting excellent ductility and malleability. It can be processed into various shapes of plates, strips, tubes, and wires through rolling, drawing, extrusion, and other methods, and is less prone to defects such as cracks and holes during processing. Whether manufacturing extremely fine electronic wires or complex-shaped precision parts, C10100 can handle the task with ease.

Production Process of C10100 Oxygen-Free Copper

The production of C10100 oxygen-free copper requires strict control at every stage to ensure its high purity and excellent performance:

• Raw Material Selection: High-purity electrolytic copper is typically used as the raw material. The purity of the electrolytic copper generally needs to reach above 99.95% to minimize the introduction of impurities.

• Smelting: Vacuum smelting or protective atmosphere smelting is employed. Vacuum smelting is carried out in a high-vacuum environment, typically maintained below 10⁻³ Pa, which effectively removes gaseous and volatile impurities from the molten copper. Protective atmosphere smelting is conducted under the protection of an inert gas (such as argon) to prevent the molten copper from reacting with oxygen, nitrogen, etc., in the air at high temperatures, thus avoiding the introduction of impurities.

• Refining: During the smelting process, a small amount of deoxidizer (such as phosphorus) is added for refining to further reduce the oxygen content. However, for C10100 oxygen-free copper, the amount of deoxidizer used must be strictly controlled to prevent residual deoxidizer from becoming a new source of impurities.

• Casting and Machining: Refined molten copper is cast into ingots or castings using methods such as continuous casting and die casting. Subsequently, depending on different application requirements, the ingots undergo rolling, drawing, and extrusion processes to produce products of various specifications. During processing, multiple annealing treatments are also performed to eliminate work hardening and restore the material's plasticity and toughness.

Processing status: C10100 copper tube can be manufactured by cold drawing or annealing process, and the hardness grades include soft state (O), semi-hard (H/2), full hard (H), etc.
