C44300, CuZn28Sn1As, CZ111, HSn70-1 all indicate admiralty brass tube (consisted of Copper, Zinc and Tin) and they are the same material designation from different production standards or norms. C44300 is in accordance with standard ASTM B135; CuZn28Sn1As is according to norm EN12451; CZ111 is in accordance with British standard while HSn70-1 is according to Chinese standard.

Tin brass (C44300, CuZn28Sn1As, CZ111, HSn70-1) is generally called "admiralty brass", which holds distinguished corrosion resisting property and high strength. At the earliest, the main method of corrosion for tin brass is dezincification corrosion. By adding arsenic (As) into the material, C44300 / CuZn28Sn1As / CZ111 / HSn70-1 comes out, which effectively restrain extensive leakage caused by dezincification corrosion, as a result, the quality and service life of condenser tube have been greatly improved. However the dezincification corrosion and stress corrosion of brass tube is not as good as that of Cu-Ni alloy, which therefore limits its application in shipbuilding.
