280 Brass (C28000) High Quality Copper Alloy Material

UNS C82000 is an alloy composed of copper (70-75%), zinc (24-30%), lead (0.2-0.8%), and tin (0.1%). This composition creates a malleable metal with excellent machinability that can withstand high temperatures and resist wear.

Due to its combination of properties-malleability, corrosive resistance, heat resistance brass 280 is often used in applications involving fluid flow systems such as pipes or pumps; valves; electrical components; automotive components; decorative objects; fasteners; fittings; castings; gaskets; nuts & bolts etc. It can also be used for bearing surfaces due to its low coefficient of friction which helps reduce wear on moving parts during operation.

Brass 280 Alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance thanks to its high copper content. It prevents dezincification when exposed to water or other corrosive substances over time like most other alloys containing zinc. It also resists attacks from organic acids such as formic acid, acetic acid, and non-oxidizing mineral acids, including sulfuric acid in concentrations up to 15%.

C28000 is one of the most versatile and dependable metals used in industrial applications – especially regarding heat resistance. With a melting point of nearly 1700 degrees Fahrenheit, Brass 280 is specially designed to retain its strength under extreme temperatures, making it an ideal material for constructing high-pressure equipment and parts exposed to harsh conditions. Its superior ability to resist oxidation makes it a perfect alloy for many industries, including energy production, chemical manufacturing and food processing. These qualities make Brass 280 the premier heat-resistant material on the market today.

Heat treatment can be used on brass 280 if desired to improve its hardness or ductility but it should be done carefully since over-heating may cause embrittlement due to grain growth leading to cracks forming after cooling down again too quickly, which could compromise the structural integrity of the material if left unchecked. Generally speaking though, no heat treatment is necessary because the material already possesses good mechanical properties without any additional processing needed before use.

Brass C28000 welding is a versatile and reliable method of joining two or more materials together. It's suitable for many metals, such as brass, copper and stainless steel. During the process, an arc generates heat that melts the metal and binds it together. For best results, it must be performed in an area with a reduced airflow, ensuring no molten metal loss due to wind draft. The strength of the brass weld can be tailored by adjusting the wattage, oscillation speed and amperage levels-making this type of welding remarkably precise. With soldering products available at hardware stores and home improvement depots, Brass C28000 welding allows DIY enthusiasts to bring their projects to life in an economically friendly way.
