What is a C71500 copper nickel tube?

SB111 C71500 alloy is typically composed of 70% copper and 30% nickel, with small amounts of iron, manganese, and other elements added. Its density is approximately 8.94 g/cm³, ensuring structural strength while maintaining a moderate weight. It has a melting point of 1170-1240°C, exhibiting structural stability at high temperatures and resisting deformation. Its thermal conductivity is approximately 29 W/(m·K), lower than pure copper, but sufficient for the heat exchange requirements of condenser tubes. It has a tensile strength of 480-620 MPa, a hardness of 100-150 HB, and a shear strength of approximately 320 MPa. It possesses good machinability and formability, and exhibits excellent material stability under mechanical stress conditions.

 

Chemical Composition of B111 C71500

The B111 C71500 copper-nickel alloy is primarily composed of copper (Cu) and nickel (Ni), with copper content ranging from 65.0% to 70.0% and nickel content ranging from 29.0% to 33.0%. It may also contain trace amounts of other elements such as iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn), which are used to adjust the alloy's mechanical and chemical properties.

 

Mechanical Properties of SB 111 C71500

The C71500 alloy possesses excellent mechanical properties. Typical mechanical property parameters include: Tensile Strength: Typically between 450 and 550 MPa, with the specific value depending on the alloy's processing method and heat treatment process. For example, the tensile strength in the cold-worked state is 520–550 MPa, while the tensile strength in the annealed state is 450–480 MPa.

Yield strength: Approximately 228 MPa (some sources indicate approximately 220 MPa in the cold-worked state and 150~170 MPa in the annealed state).

Elongation: Approximately 30% (possibly 10~15% in the cold-worked state).

C71500 copper-nickel alloy also possesses good electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, machinability, and weldability.
