ASTM F68 C10100 Oxygen-Free Electronic Copper for radiators and heat exchangers

C10100 Oxygen-Free Electronic Copper, also known as OFE, is a 99.99% pure copper with 0.0005% oxygen content. C101 achieves a minimum 101% IACS conductivity rating. This copper is finished to a final form in a carefully regulated, oxygen-free environment. C10100 OFE has High ductility, high electrical and thermal conductivity and low volatility under high vacuum. 

 

Chemical Composition

C10100 is primarily composed of copper (Cu), with extremely high purity:
Copper content: ≥99.99%, some standards require ≥99.95%.

Oxygen content: ≤0.0005% (5ppm), some specifications ≤0.001% (10ppm), far lower than ordinary copper materials.

Other impurities: Total trace elements such as calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), zinc (Zn), and lead (Pb) <0.001%, ensuring material purity.

 

Physical Properties

Electrical Conductivity:
Conductivity: ≥100% IACS (International Standard for Annealed Copper), some annealed states can reach 102% IACS, approaching the theoretical limit of pure copper.

Resistivity: Extremely low, resistivity at 20℃ is only 0.00000168 Ω·mm²/m, reducing energy loss and improving current transmission efficiency.

 

Thermal Conductivity:
Thermal conductivity: 398 W/(m·K), suitable for high-efficiency heat transfer equipment such as radiators and heat exchangers.

 

Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 210~240 MPa (soft state), elongation ≥45%, maintaining 35% elongation even at low temperature (4K), fatigue limit 120 MPa (10⁷ cycles).

 

Machining Performance:

Good forgeability, excellent cold and hot working performance, can be drawn into 0.003mm ultrafine wire, deep drawing limit ratio (LDR) reaches 2.3.

 

Vacuum Performance:
Vacuum Exhaust Rate: <1×10⁻¹¹ Torr·L/(s·cm²), no gas release in an extreme vacuum environment of 10⁻⁸Pa, meeting the stringent requirements of particle accelerator cavity resonators, etc.
