The alloy has good formability and joining characteristics, making it well suited for fabrication. Forming is easily accomplished from the annealed condition. Severe bending from the hard or heat treated condition is less successful and requires a large fold radius ratio.
Beryllium Copper 25 is capable of being welded, brazed, and soldered by most standard techniques. Brazing temperatures must be kept below 1450º F and cycle times minimized to avoid loss of heat treated strength. Heat treatment should be performed after welding to obtain uniform high strength. The alloy is not susceptible to increased magnetic attraction due to plastic deformation during service, such as ferromagnetic stainless steels.
