The chemical composition of C17200 beryllium copper consists of beryllium (Be) 1.90-2.15%, cobalt (Co) 0.35-0.65%, nickel (Ni) 0.20-0.25%, a balance of copper (Cu), and small amounts of other elements such as silicon (Si), iron (Fe), and aluminum (Al) less than 0.15% each. The combination of these components gives C17200 beryllium copper high strength, high hardness, high electrical conductivity and good wear resistance. After solution treatment and aging, C17200 beryllium copper has very high strength, hardness, elastic and fatigue limits, as well as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, good castability, non-magnetic properties, and non-sparking impact properties.
