    The solubility of phosphorus in tin bronze is small, and as the tin content increases and the temperature decreases, the solubility decreases significantly. The ultimate solubility of phosphorus in tin bronze at room temperature is about 0.2%. Too much phosphorus will form the ternary eutectic α+δ+Cu 3 P at 628°C. The phosphide eutectic will be in a liquid state during hot rolling, causing thermal brittleness. Phosphorus increases fluidity but increases the degree of reverse segregation.

●Characteristics and scope of application:

    It has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and processing properties, and can be welded and brazed. It contains less impurities that reduce electrical and thermal conductivity, and a trace amount of oxygen has little effect on electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and processing properties, but it can easily cause "hydrogen disease" and is not suitable for processing (annealing, welding, etc.) and use.

    Phosphide has high hardness and is wear-resistant. The phosphide + δ phase serves as the hard phase, creating the necessary conditions for the bearing alloy. Therefore, in cast wear-resistant tin bronze, the phosphorus content can reach 1.2%.

    The role of zinc and tin-zinc bronze: Zinc reduces the crystallization temperature interval of tin bronze, reduces segregation, improves fluidity, promotes deoxidation and degassing, and increases casting density. Zinc can be dissolved in a large amount into the α solid solution to improve the mechanical properties of the alloy. Zinc-containing processed tin bronzes all have a single-phase α solid solution structure (such as QSn4-3); when the zinc content of tin-zinc bronze is between 2 and 4%, it has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and is used to manufacture elastic components such as springs and shrapnel, chemical equipment, wear-resistant parts and anti-magnetic parts, etc.
