CuCr1Zr – UNS.C18150 Copper Chrome Zirconium C18150 is an outstanding and unique copper alloy that has high electrical conductivity, hardness and ductility, moderate strength, and excellent resistance to softening at elevated temperatures. The addition of 0.1% zirconium (Zr) and 1.0% chromium (Cr) to copper produces a heat treatable alloy that can be solution treated and then aged to produce these desirable properties. Bars are typically supplied from the mill in the fully aged and drawn condition so that no further heat treatment is required by the manufacturer. The softening temperature of properly heat treated C18150 bar exceeds 500°C, while pure copper softens at 200°C and silver-bearing copper softens at 350°C.

In addition, there is much evidence that C18150 exhibits less sticking and longer resistance to deformation than C18200 in certain specific circumstances.
