C12200, phosphorus deoxidized copper, can be used for welding and brazing by phosphorus deoxidation. It is widely used as flat products and tubes, especially where welding or brazing is required. Phosphorus greatly reduces the electrical conductivity down to 70% IACS and also increases the softening temperature during work hardening and promotes grain refinement.
The mechanical properties of C12200 copper sheet metal are virtually identical to those of high purity copper alloys such as C11000. It has excellent deep drawing characteristics and is resistant to pitting in harsh weather and water environments.
