90/10 White Cup is an alloy that is 90% copper, 10% nickel, with small but significant amounts of iron and manganese to improve overall strength and corrosion resistance. This, combined with high ductility and toughness, makes it a popular material for marine, architectural and industrial applications.

90/10 alloy offers designers and specifiers excellent resistance to stress corrosion, erosion and biofouling in seawater and brackish water, excellent fabrication and welding properties, high resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, and retention of mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures.

The material is published under Defense Standard DEF STAN 02-879 Annex C, which supersedes DEF STAN 02-779 and NES 779.

In Europe and the United States, the most popular specifications are C70600, CN102 and CW352. These grades are most commonly used in the marine, offshore, chemical, petrochemical and shipbuilding industries, and are also widely used to treat seawater in all types of heat exchangers and cooling units.
